PV Technical Sales Resource Guide

The PV Technical Sales Resource Guide is a useful and practical resource for those planning to take NABCEP’s PV Technical Sales Certification Exam.

The foundation for this Resource Guide, and in effect the whole PV Technical Sales Certification, is the PV Technical Sales Job Task Analysis (JTA). The JTA is a blueprint of the various skills required by a solar PV technical sales professional for the successful siting, design, analysis and performance of solar PV systems.  The task analysis was developed by NABCEP’s PV Technical Sales technical committee and vetted by a number of solar PV stakeholders including NABCEP Certified PV Installers, successful PV technical sales professionals, manufacturers, supply chain companies, public benefits program administrators, state energy offices, and solar PV advocates.

It’s important to realize that this is a Resource Guide, not study manual with sample exam questions that will unlock the PV Technical Sales exam questions.  NABCEP strongly recommends that ALL candidates review the JTA carefully and thoroughly, then ask themselves if they feel well-trained, experienced, and fully conversant with all the elements of the JTA. If the answer is “yes”, the candidate is likely ready for the examination. If the answer is “no”, the candidate should do additional research, take additional training, or gain additional experience in the areas they have identified as weaknesses.
